I would highly recommend trying the ‘ABC’ notation for finding and learning tunes.

A close friend would argue with this and say you have to learn tunes by ear, (unfortunately) I agree with him. However we do not always have someone who can teach us. The ‘ABC’ method is not difficult to understand and is easier to use than learning to read tadpoles (sheet music).
